Meet Our Nonprofits

By Design for Good

On April 23-24, 5 teams of professional volunteers will unite for 24-hours of pro bono creative work serving 5 local nonprofits.

Meet Our Nonprofit Partners

This year’s nonprofits give essential services in the DC metro area. We can’t wait to partner with them for CreateAthon DC 2022! Our partners are:

Arts on the Block

Arts on the Block (AOB) empowers creative youth to shape fulfilling futures, join the creative workforce, and enhance quality of life in their communities. AOB achieves its mission by providing real-world arts and entrepreneurial training. AOB serves youth in Maryland’s Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties.

Bethany House of Northern Virginia

Bethany House of Northern Virginia provides safe, short-term housing and trauma-informed services to women and children in the DC Metro area.

Reach Incorporated

Reach Incorporated has served Washington, DC, public schools for the past 10 years. They recruit, train, and hire teens experiencing social and academic hardships to tutor elementary school students who face challenges of their own. The result is improved literacy for both the students and their tutors. Since their launch, Reach, Inc. has worked with more than 700 participants through four programs designed to develop confident readers and capable leaders.

Safe Sisters Circle

Safe Sisters Circle provides culturally specific, trauma-informed, holistic services to Black women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault living mostly in Washington, DC’s Wards 7 and 8. Safe Sisters Circle provides legal support, along with participation in intensive housing, healing, and skills development programs. These services help clients create healthy, independent, successful life paths.

Tech Turn Up

Tech Turn Up provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to support K-12 students in developing fundamental technology skills, from design thinking to audio engineering. Tech Turn Up believes it is essential that students see technology as tools to help them create and innovate.

We look forward to sharing the work our CreateAthon teams produce with each of our nonprofit partners. Tune in April 23rd and 24th on Instagram and Twitter for a live peek at our teams in action!
