Code of Conduct

AIGA DC is dedicated to providing harassment-free experiences for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, ability status, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, age, religion, or political affiliation.

We expect individuals at our events to also adhere to the National  AIGA Code of Conduct.

Certain events may have additional codes of conduct.

DEI Slack

In addition to the AIGA Code of Conduct, we ask that members of our DEI Slack workspace do not share anything expressed in the channels on social media or other platforms without the written permission of the authors. This includes the words and images shared by the speaker, moderator, or any other members of the channel.

We also ask to abide by certain principles to encourage open dialogue about difficult topics.

We value respectful behavior above individual opinions.

  • Ensure all voices are heard
  • Actively listen
  • Respect differences in opinion
  • Use ā€œIā€œ statements
  • Lean into discomfort
  • Address the issue, not the person
  • Be honest and embrace honesty
