Introducing Our Newest Board Members 2024

Based on an extraordinarily strong pool of nominations, the 2024-2025 AIGA DC Nominating Committee selected these appointees to fill open seats on the Board of Directors for a two-year term through June 15, 2026. 

So now, we are excited to introduce our newest AIGA DC Board members:

Sarah Coloma
Operations Director & Treasurer
she/her


Sarah is currently a user experience designer at A1M Solutions. A Coding it Forward Civic Digital Fellowship alum, Sarah holds an MA from the George Washington University’s Corcoran School of the Arts and Design. Her work has appeared on NPR’s TED Radio Hour. Prior to working in interaction design, Sarah served in various capacities in nonprofit programming, operations, and graphic design. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys arranging flowers and antiquing.

Logan Dulski
Programming Coordinator

Logan is a designer who rolls with a +5 modifier to charisma. Logan Dulski is a multimedia designer based in Washington, D.C., specializing in website design and front-end development. A high-achieving closet creative, Logan excels in building innovative solutions and thrives on creative autonomy. With an insatiable curiosity and analytical mindset, Logan leverages design skills across various platforms to craft unique and engaging experiences. When not listening to a podcast and working at their desk, you can find them reading a graphic novel, playing Dungeons & Dragons, or dancing in Laufey in their kitchen.

Mariza Avila
Programming Coordinator

Mariza is a design strategist with a background in visual communication and a passion for creating engaging learning experiences through play. She is an avid volunteer, lending her creative talents to nonprofits across the DMV, including AIGA DC, Game Genius, Pyramid Atlantic Art Center, the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County, Maryland Science Center, and the National Cherry Blossom Festival. In 2019, Mariza received the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award, recognizing her service to the Montgomery College community in Montgomery County, MD. She holds an AA from Montgomery College and a BFA in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art. When not designing, you can find Mariza either setting a new personal record at the gym, rock-climbing indoors, or beating her high score on Wingspan.

Nicole Albertie

Nicole Albertie is an accomplished Creative Director with over a decade of experience bringing ideas to life. She has excelled in ideating, researching, and crafting visually stunning campaigns and design systems for renowned brands such as Capital One, Toyota, and Land Rover. Her passion lies in forging connections, promoting inclusivity, and pushing creative boundaries. A native of Houston, TX, Nicole holds an MFA in Advertising and a BA in Graphic Design.

Rhea Gupta
Social Media Coordinator

Rhea is a Human-centered designer striving to leverage the power of design for the greater good. With an MA in Social Design from MICA, her work strives to create solutions that harness the collective wisdom and creativity of communities, ensuring that the outcome is deeply meaningful and impactful to all involved. Her love for working with creative communities to enrich their stories started through bringing the Indian craft sector and its glory to the urban markets by strengthening their unique voices. In her free time, she loves to catch a swim and revel in the handicraft sector of indigenous communities.

Nursena Caksen

Nursena is a graphic designer at the United Nations Foundation, passionate about designing and storytelling for creating a better world. With experience as a multidisciplinary designer, Nursena has designed for all types of organizations including Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and small businesses. Her love of art and travel has taken her to many different countries worldwide, where she enjoys experiencing new cultures, adventuring outdoors, and trying new food.

Lisa Leung
Membership & Volunteer Chair

Lisa Leung is a product designer and user researcher based in Washington, D.C., where she runs her digital product studio, Fortis Design. Lisa brings her interests in responsible tech, intelligent agents, systems thinking, and human-centered design methodologies to design high-impact systems across organizations. Her approach to design: (elegant) simplicity, tactical experimentation, intention, and integrity.
