A Conversation in Drawings: Juana Medina and Leo Espinosa

Take a journey with celebrated Colombian-born illustrator and children's book author Juana Medina and award-winning illustrator and designer Leo Espinosa. Their unique illustration styles and stories have captured the imaginations of readers and creatives alike. In a conversation celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, these friends and extraordinary creatives will live-sketch and and talk about their inspirations, careers and the many paths they’ve traveled in life.

We’ll also hear from Library of Congress curators Sara Duke and Melissa Lindberg, who will take us through the Hispanic Art collection at the LOC and give a crash course on how designers can use the library's resources.

We’ll end with a Q&A on everything from what it takes to break into illustration and get published to how best to sample the Library of Congress’s collection for your next creative project.
