Drawing for Good

Calling all illustrators! We need you. Help children see their words come to life. Join the local nonprofit 826DC this fall to support the creative writing skills of children in grades one through four.

While the kids work on their stories with the teacher, you’ll listen in, take notes, and ask questions, and then come up with three black and white illustrations for each story.  Once the stories are done, you’ll do one more cover illustration based on the title. The stories and illustrations will be printed and bound for each child to take home.

Check out two examples of illustrated books from last years 826DC Field Trip program Alex and Secret Go to the Beach and The Banana Mystery.

This project will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays from October through December, and we need one illustrator per slot. Sign up for as many slots as you want!
