Calling All Illustrators! Draw Children’s Stories with 826DC

Help children see their words come to life. Join us and the local nonprofit 826DC this spring to support the creative writing skills of children in grades one through four.

826DC Storytelling & Bookmaking Field Trips are dynamic, two-hour programs during which children are guided through the nuts and bolts of what it takes to write a story. They develop an original, unique setting and cast of characters before collaboratively writing and publishing a book. We are in search of illustrators who are able to come in and illustrate the students’ ideas as they write their book.

Check out two examples of illustrated books from last years 826DC Field Trip program Alex and Secret Go to the Beach and The Banana Mystery.

Want to volunteer for multiple time slots? Awesome! We’d love to have you! Please email samples of your illustration style once you’ve select a date. We will follow up with more details.
