DC Design Week Official Proclamation

In honor of its 15th anniversary, DC Design Week has received an official proclamation from Mayor Muriel Bowser. DC has more than 150,000 workers in the creative sector, generating a creative economy that supports $30 billion in annual spending. And as our community meets once again this week for DC Design Week to level up our professional and personal skills, the DC government has taken notice.

As Mayor of Washington, DC, I am pleased to extend greetings to the organizers and attendees of American Institute for Graphic Arts, DC chapter (AIGA DC) 15th DC Design Week.

DC Design Week (DCDW) is a celebration and a dynamic professional development and networking forum for the more than 150,000 professionals, makers, and voices that make up the creative sector.

Under the theme, “Level Up,” this year’s DCDW promises a dazzling array of design keynotes and empowering events to sharpen personal and professional insights and elevate designers and creatives across all disciplines to the next level.

As you gather for DCDW 2023, know that the work you do helps to enhance the District of Columbia’s status as one of the leading creative hubs in the nation.

On behalf of the nearly 700,000 residents of Washington, DC, I offer my thanks for your contributions to our communities and my best wishes for a productive and enjoyable event.
