Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

AIGA DC is committed to making Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion a core part of the chapter’s mission and all of our programming.

Throughout the year, join us for a variety of programs that:

  • Celebrate a diverse array of influential designers, including historical figures and contemporary role models.
  • Cultivate greater opportunity, awareness of diversity issues, and inclusive design cultures.
  • Connect students, emerging designers, and like-minded groups to support a broader range of future practitioners and leaders.

Want to suggest a diversity and inclusion focused activity or subject for our chapter? Let us know!

AIGA DC Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Slack

AIGA DC runs the DEI Slack workspace to share and support conversations about diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in design and the design industry.

This is not just a resource for the Washington DC area — anyone who is interested in participating in these conversations and is willing to adhere to our code of conduct is welcome to join.

Our community provides updates on events, jobs, internships, scholarships and talent.

We also host regular events, like Ask Me Anythings (#amas) where you get to connect with people in design and related industries to talk about their work and how they are fostering DEI.

Our Slack channels adhere to our Code of Conduct, and ask that members of the workspace value respectful behavior above individual opinions to create a safe space for discussion.
