The Link Up: A Black History Month Creative Happy Hour

Join AIGA DC at Manifest for an evening dedicated to the vibrant pulse of Washington DC’s creative scene. Hosted in a space that stands at the forefront of DC culture, championing the intersection of spatial, graphic, and culinary arts, this gathering is more than just a mixer; it is a celebration of the innovators shaping our city’s landscape.

As we honor the 100th year of Black History Month, we invite you to connect with fellow designers, artists, and visionaries. This is a dedicated space to foster new relationships, spark future collaborations, and strengthen the ties within our local creative community.

Why Attend?

  • Celebrate Heritage: Prepare to be greeted by Legacy 1926 upon arrival as we provide your first celebratory cocktail in honor of 100 years of Black History Month.

  • Expand Your Network & Influence: Meet like minded professionals across multiple disciplines in an environment built for inspiration. With recruitment season approaching, this is also the perfect time to chat with current AIGA DC Board members about leadership opportunities and how you can help shape the next chapter of our design community.

Why “Legacy 1926”?

The Legacy 1926 cocktail pays homage to the year Carter G. Woodson established Negro History Week in Washington DC. A neighbor to the jazz legends of “Black Broadway” and mentor to a young Langston Hughes at his Shaw headquarters, Woodson was a champion of both history and the arts.

This signature drink celebrates his commitment to documenting the artistry, resilience, and century of cultural impact that defines our community.

Cheers to continuing the legacy of 1926!
