An ordinary New Year’s resolution can feel daunting to choose, let alone stick with for an entire year. But for designers with a backlog of tutorials, inspiration bookmarks, dream projects, and more screenshots to “remember for later” than we know what to do with; taking on a resolution can feel like a sisyphean task. To make this less daunting, AIGADC’s Board of Directors shared some of their creative goals for 2026.
“Say yes to projects that spark curiosity, civic good, and a little chaos (the good kind).” -Jessica Hoang, Co-President
“I’d like to contribute to an urban plan that serves as a blueprint for long-term decision-making. Design is embedded in the everyday places people inhabit—these choices about future architecture, landscape, and infrastructure investments, directly shape how residents move, gather, live, and connect with their community.” -Alexa Powell, Programming Coordinator
“I want to revamp how I seek inspiration, prioritizing mediums that are not digital, and focusing on building my skillset as a graphic designer.” -Eden Patrick, DC Design Week Chair
“Finally master a file naming system and stick to it so that I can stop living in final_final_REALLYFINAL_v7.” -Anike Skeete, Programming Director
“Read my TBR backlog of books.” -Meghan Romance, Communications Coordinator
